In my younger years, it was extremely hard for me to open up myself to people. I felt different from others. I couldn't find a sense of belonging in any group or even my family. It took me so long to truly realize that there was nothing wrong to feel different. Being alone doesn't mean lonely. We don't have to change ourselves to cater to the world, and at the same time we have no obligation to be the same person at any time. We have the right to grow. I stopped comparing myself to others and magic happened - I became happier. I found my inner peace. I depend on no one for my own happiness. Life becomes so much enjoyable and I feel content. 1. Stop comparing yourself to others
From income to job title and from body weight to Facebook likes, people like to compare numbers a lot and it usually is the fastest track to unhappiness. It does nothing but forces yourself to focus of what you don't like about yourself and your life. After all, ask yourself does it really matters? Everyone has a different story, path and personality. We have to learn how to accept ourselves and be proud of who we are. Focus on yourself, stop comparing, and accept who you are.
2. Half glass full ? Half glass empty ?
Calm down, I am not gonna say " Always see the glass half full" kind of stuff. I am actually want you to think about ain't you so lucky to have the glass? and the glass is Always REFILLABLE.
Knowing that where you are today, doesn't mean where you will be after a year, months or weeks. What matter is your attitude, your mindset and where you are going. If you think your boyfriend, girlfriend makes you happy, you are wrong. It is YOU decided to be happy. At the same time, it's also you to not allowing yourself to feel happy. Learn to love yourself in different ways - Eat a healthier breakfast, drink more water, read a good book. Loving yourself is the best investment to your life.
